The first week back at school went great, and I finally found a moment to edit a few of my favorites from a mentoring session I did the week before school started. In June, I participated in the I Heart Faces photowalk in Chicago where I met Carrie. I was thrilled when she contacted me later in the summer to see if I’d be interested in doing a one-on-one mentoring session with her. I haven’t really officially done anything like that before, but I thought it was a perfect opportunity to get together with another photographer and share what I’ve learned over the past year. It was a great way for me to combine what I know about teaching with what I know about photography. Plus, Carrie and her cute girls (who modeled for us) were so sweet and kind! I think I could have spent all day photographing with Carrie if it weren’t for the heat, naps, and my impending drive home in Chicagoland rush hour traffic. Carrie is working her way towards a photography business, and I’m so impressed with the thought and care she is taking to make it happen! Here are a few of my favorites from our time together.
